PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT IN SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION AND ITS IMPLICATIONS ON PUPILS EDUCATION
Parental involvement is a valuable component in the lives of students. It is a well established fact that parental involvement is linked to children's success in school. The level of parental involvement is a better predictor of grades than the standardized test scores. What is important is not the type of school he or she attends but the quality of it's relationship with families.
Research indicates that there are positive academic outcomes stemming from parental involvement benefits beginning from early childhood throughout adolescent and beyond.
A new generation of evidence states that the family is critical in the child's achievement. When parents are involved in school , children go further in school and perform better academically
Parental involvement in learning activity is a strategy founded by BECKER and EPSTEIN (1982) to increase the educational effectiveness of the time that parents and children spent together at home.
- Teachers should create a conducive environment or atmosphere to encourage parents to come to them in times of need as well as children
